Assistant principal's message

The Assistant Principal role at Sunshine Special Developmental School primarily focuses on Innovation, School Design & Accountability. I feel privileged to join the Sunshine SDS community to work alongside such experienced and focused staff, and immerse myself in our school’s culture of professional teaching and learning which drives increased student engagement and outcomes.

My work as the Assistant Principal involves working closely as part of a dynamic team of instructional leaders to support the implementation of key educational initiatives and school priorities and goals. We work collaboratively to ensure that the curriculum design and learning experiences provided are personalised to meet the individual needs of students, and maximize every opportunity for our students to succeed as learners.

I firmly believe in the student at the centre of every learning experience and this belief underpins all of my work. I support our School’s moto of Excellence in Learning for every student, every day without exception, and actively promote our school Values of Learning, Collaboration, Respect, Courage and Persistence.

My key roles as Assistant principal at Sunshine Special Developmental School are:

  • Management of the school accountability and improvement framework (Strategic Plan, Annual Implementation Plan, Annual Report, School Review, School Policy Development, School Compliance)
  • Coordination of Curriculum Design and Implementation
  • Coordination of Assessment and Reporting (Individual Learning Plans, Student Reports, Assessment Calendar)
  • Coordination and development of key school administration documents (Roles and Responsibilities, Educational calendar, Timetable)
